I haven't called again as I have faith on Avis taking care of this but has anyone encountered this before? I figured I'd give them another day or so before calling them again. Ok so I wait and now it's Wednesday and it's still showing up on my Avis app and still haven't received a receipt like the rental is still going on. They said my rental wasn't checked in yet but said they would put a note on my profile/rental that it was checked in before the return time so I won't be charged for more then I was quoted for. They asked some questions like what time I returned it and if I had put a full tank in. The photos you took, along with receipts for fuel and your phone records showing when you tried calling the car hire company (for example) can all save you. I called customer service and asked them to provide a receipt. Anyways next day, I never got the receipt and noticed that the rental was still showing on my Avis app as current rental. I didn't get a receipt on the spot nor did I ask as I usually get the email receipt soon after leaving. I returned my rental to DEN Sunday night and the Avis agent recorded my miles and gas. Should I be concerned? I need to go to the DCA area tomorrow AM anyways so I might just go to the counter then.Įdit: I just called Avis again and he said "Well it was due to be returned so give it a couple of more hours but you'll probably have to go to the desk at DCA and straighten everything out with them tomorrow." What if I had flown out? I know I should have gotten a paper receipt and waited but I guess the tone/nonchalant attitude is somewhat irritating. I still haven't gotten the receipt yet, and its almost 5 hours since I dropped it off. Midfield fee - the Midfield Fee paid to the Springfield airport for each rental. I called Avis directly (not DCA) and he asked what time I returned the car and told me not to worry and I should get a receipt now within 2 hours. Maricopa County/Arena Fee - Maricopa County, Arizona requires all rental car companies collect a Short-Term Motor Vehicle Rental Surcharge of 3.25 of taxable rental charges, or 2.50 per rental, whichever is greater. I noticed I never got a receipt for the rental around 6:30pm and when I looked at the app it still says that I have the car. I asked him if he wanted the receipt for gas because I drove less than 75 miles and he said no. I walked over to the Avis rep and he said "oh just leave the keys in the car and I'll email the receipt". The rental car center looked to be fairly busy (just one person working) and there were 3 other people in front of me waiting around to have their car checked in. I ended up needing the car for less time than I thought so I returned it about 3 hours early. Had to rent a car today to run some errands around DC. ![]()
